One of the first and only social media platform for balanced news and opinions powered by AI in 2021, where you were guranteed more than one perspective.

CSuite Retro is from the team who created Balanced.Social

Problem Statement

Over 50% of Americans, consume news from social media.

To see multiple sides of any argument in social media, people often have to scan hundreds of comments. This is impractical and time-consuming.

Social media has also created “echo chambers” where people are served information that reinforces what they already believe.

What we built in 2021?

A 'Balanced Generator' which summarizes comments from echo chambers using Twitter #tags.

Soft launched Balanced.Social a new social media platform for balanced news and opinions with live discussions on hundreds of topics. We also present the Top 5 of multiple sides of the arguments on all topics discussed.

The platform had 2,000 authors, but the service was unfortunately stopped in 2022 due to lack of funding.

Our guiding principle

“We want to create a new generation of authors; professionals and amateurs who cover local or global content while being rewarded financially.”

Three things that were unique

1. Machine Learning algorithms we have built enable the summaries of all trending topics showing multiple sides of the argument. We will also show points from different echo chambers that have come closest to consensus.

2. Users’ posts on any topic will need
to have at least one counterpoint - an enabler to 'perspective taking'. All author accounts will be verified and will have a capability to value expert comments that are  shown appropriately.

3. We reward authors through
monetary incentives based on their publisher score*. The algorithms will be audited by a public panel and leading academic thought leaders.

Publisher score is derived from a proprietary algorithm, that factors in diversity of topics written, the number of likes, flagged content & shares of their original posts.
